TOWNSHIP ISSUES PERMIT FOR MICHAELS

POTTSVILLE, PA. - Work has started at the site of the Michaels craft store at the Fairlane Village mall outside Pottsville. A permit was issued by Brad Petchulis, zoning officer for Norwegian Township on Friday, township Supervisor Bob Kirwan said Monday. A lease was signed in January for the site. Ray O. Lannom, project superintendent with Kennedy Contractors Inc., West Palm Beach, Fla., said he has been at the site next to the Kohl's department store since 7 a.m. Monday and he planned to stay into the early evening hours because he was waiting for supplies to be delivered...   Complete Story

JACKSONVILLE TO GET A BUYBUY BABY STORE
JACKSONVILLE, FLA. - The first buybuy Baby store in Jacksonville will open in the Timberlin Village shopping center near The Avenues mall. Kennedy Contractors Inc. received a city of Jacksonville building permit yesterday for a $1.3 million build-out for the baby merchandise retailer at 8801 Southside Blvd. The work involves 25,000 square feet and the permit lists Frank Michael Grieco of Buffalo Grove, Ill., as the architect. Buy Buy Baby Inc. , based in Garden City, N.Y., has 54 stores in 25 states, including four in Florida, according to its website. It is a subsidiary of Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. Just south of Regency Commons, an Atlanta developer has torn down the former United Artists Theatre at northeast Atlantic and Southside boulevards. Mibarev Development I LLC and West Palm Beach-based Kennedy Contractors Inc. will clear the rubble and then start construction on the $10 million CB Square Shopping Center. The city OK'd permits last week for Mibarev to start construction on the buildings, which eventually will include Circuit City and Bed, Bath & Beyond, connected by a smaller retail store, as well as a stand-alone store on the site, near Bennigan's.
